Unit type matters first — split ACs carry more copper and aluminium than window units, so they fetch more. Working compressors push the number up further.
Age and condition close the gap. A non-functional five-ton split still has scrap value; a corroded one-ton window unit has less. Tell us the model and state — we quote you right then, no callbacks.

Copper coils and aluminium fins make split units the highest-value category. Working compressor adds significantly.
Single-body units with less copper than splits. Condition of the compressor and coil still shifts the final number.
Larger commercial units carry more metal overall. Age and refrigerant type affect the offer — call with the model number.
Dead units still carry copper, steel, and aluminium. We assess on the call — don't assume it's worthless before you ring.
